Community is Everything
We support those interested in joining the veterinary profession by having high school and college students spend time shadowing a doctor. We also provide the opportunity for technical students to intern at our hospital.
Minnehaha Animal Hospital believes in giving back to the community. We offer discounted exams for pets adopted from any local rescue organization. We are a member of the Animal Care Foundation. As a participating hospital, we provide limited free medical care to the pets of qualified low-income, blind, and/or disabled people. To find out if you qualify, please call the Animal Care Foundation at 763-529-5060.
People & Pets Together (formerly Pet Project MN). We are a collection site for the Pet Project. This organization was started to prevent unemployed or struggling pet owners from having to give up their pets because they cannot afford to feed them. Many people donate food and money to food shelves, but until recently there was nowhere for those in need to obtain supplies for their pets. We collect food to distribute to local food shelves, as well as litter, bedding, any other supply that is pet-related, as well as donations of money.
We participate in and support the Field Regina Northrop Neighborhood Group as well as the South Chicago Area Business Alliance (SCABA), which promotes business in and upkeep of the 48th Street and Chicago Avenue area. Our thanks go out to SCABA for brightening our corner with plants and holiday decorations, banners, and the annual Southside Sprint Bike Race, Antique Car Show and Fall Festival. At the request of the Stevens Square Neighborhood, we opened a second clinic, Pet Doctors Animal Clinic, located at Nicollet and Franklin Avenues, just south of downtown Minneapolis. With two locations to choose from, and extended hours and off-street parking at both, we hope to be the most convenient as well as the best quality clinic in the Twin Cities!
We are supporters of the Field Regina Northrop Neighborhood Group
We are an active member of the South Chicago Avenue Business alliance and their work for the neighborhood. Dr Tesarek serves on the board, and as a member of the Special Service District which funds maintenance of our streetscape, planters, snow removal .
